From February 11th to 13th, 2025, the Department of Botany and Institute of Environmental Studies (IES), University of Karachi, in collaboration with HANDS Institute of Development Studies (HANDS-IDS), hosted the International Conference on “Climate Change Mitigation and Environmental Amelioration through Plants and Other Sustainable Practices.”

The Day 1 of the conference was hosted by UoK

This three-day event brought together renowned experts, researchers, and policymakers from China, Russia, Australia and diverse regions of Pakistan to explore innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Key discussions revolved around afforestation, renewable energy, and cutting-edge research on climate change mitigation strategies. The Day 1 of the conference was hosted by UoK in Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium, while the Day 2 was hosted by HANDS-IDS in auditorium of A. G. Billoo Campus. Day 3 was specially planned for city tour.
