Annual Sports Festival of HANDS Institute of Development Studies (HANDS IDS) was held on Dec 18, 2024 at the Institute premises.

The Rector of the Institute Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Abuzar Wajidi fired the shot through ribbon cutting ceremony amid clapping of the jubilant audience followed by his speech.

His oration touched at a bit past of the ongoing educational project; how it made an orderly journey and where it stands today. Dr. Wajidi reminded the dream of the Chancellor Prof (Emeritus) Dr. Abdul Gaffar Billoo who wanted to make this institute a hub of the think-tank for guiding the nation and said he was working on that line. Innshallah the vision would take practical shape as early as possible he hinted.

In his speech he highlighted the importance of sports along with the bookish knowledge in the life of the students in particular and made it clear that without a sound health no nation can stand on his own feet and prosper.
On the occasion, students from Maymar Smart Higher Secondary School and college and Govt Degree College, Konkar Village, Gadap and others visited the gala and made necessary hulla baloo to enjoy the occasion. They were given a round around the campus bedecked with colourful natural flowers to show its natural beauty and how the pet animals behave with the people in the campus.

The occasion was all the more a colourful programme in which indoor as well as outdoor games like Face the cookie, Moving on top, Cricket, Volley, Carrom Board, Badminton, Tug of war, Spoon race etc, to name a few, were arranged. The attendants, mainly the students took part in them and made impression that they enjoyed them the most.

Interestingly pet animals like deers, ducks, rabits, tortoise etc made their attendance around to prove they happily lived in a man-friendly atmosphere. Above all there were stalls of eatables in which Chat, Golgappay and the like were available for the visitors.
